Do you wish to investigate how GBI grant funding could assist your business?

Some RDA's wish to see a GBI application where there is a gap funding requirement for which GBI could be the last piece in the funding jigsaw.

Some RDAs wish to see the project fully funded but will offer GBI grant funding where potential business risk can be proved which may be detrimental to the business and project.

Projects now also do not have to be reliant on making capital investment. If the business is requiring large numbers of new staff proportional to current staff levels and these new staff are essential to increase productivity then new staff salaries can be capitalised for grant consideration.

The GBI grant is part of the government’s new 'Solutions for Business' strategy launched by Peter Mandelson on 23rd October 2008. This is the result of the Business Support Simplification Programme (BSSP) which was announced during the Budget in 2006 to reduce the number of publicly funded business support schemes from over 3,000 to less than 100 by 2010. The plan now is for only 30!

This reduction is not aimed at disadvantaging UK business but was put in place to simplify the support scheme market and to ensure products are better targeted and more inclusive for more business.
